In the words of Bill Bryson, Bradford’s existence is "to make everywhere else look better in comparison". Not a million miles from the truth, but we’re not that bad, and we’re from Bradford.

We formed in 1999, and since then have spent lots of time skint, in a state of malnutrition and in the back of transit vans. Cold transit vans. We’ve played gigs all over this sceptred isle, encountering, on rare occasions, a friendly soundman.

We’ve released two EPs, the first of which sold out, the second is well on its way. Even people we don’t know keep buying it.
Fame beckons.

People throughout the industry are getting a bit excited too. Most recently we’ve had interest from record companies on both sides of the Atlantic, plus a fair amount of contact with indie labels.

Danny @ Yeah Man Management looks after us; gets the gigs, gets us paid, holds our hands and calms us down.

We like Mansun, Placebo, Nick Drake, Smashing Pumpkins and we occasionally sound a bit like one of them. We apparently have a fragile romanticism about us.

Our line-up consists of drums, bass, 2x guitars, 2x vocals and a few noises thrown in.

The press say:

"Lapdog are the best live band in Leeds, probably anywhere"
